Lance Devreaux Jackson,

Lance Devreaux Jackson, Copywriter,  has been with Golden Shovel Agency since May 2024. Lance holds a Master of Public Diplomacy from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California and a Master in ASEAN (Southeast Asia) Studies from the University of Malaya. He is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Economic Development at Virginia Tech.

Lance started his career in economic development at SelectUSA, an initiative of the US Department of Commerce, where he promoted the United States as a premier destination for greenfield investment to firms in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. He also leveraged his economic development expertise to develop programs that highlight US-Asia trade and investment ties for a congressionally funded think tank. His professional experience has fashioned him into a writer apt at combining analysis with persuasive narratives.

Lance’s day-to-day responsibilities include meetings and research to learn about his clients and build an understanding of their priorities and goals. Using this understanding, he helps them connect with prospective investors, workers, residents, or visitors through persuasive communication.

Lance enjoys helping localities distill a value proposition – and all the technical bits of information that underpin it – into a relevant, differentiated, and distinct brand image, as it is a uniquely challenging endeavor that requires both analytical and creative rigor.

Lance currently lives in Washington, DC. He is an avid martial artist and serves as a junior instructor at an academy teaching Filipino Arnis. He is a native of Kansas City, MO, and believes himself to be a barbeque aficionado. Lance enjoys many ‘nerdy’ pursuits, including reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, streaming anime, reviewing comic book lore, and watching far too many science explainer videos on YouTube.
